Although you didn't start blogging to make additional money, you already have a sizable following. Why not monetize the project you're passionate about? Although it's not the only option for monetizing your blog, Google AdSense is the one you've probably heard of.
However, your income is a matter of opinion and is not straightforward.
What is AdSense from Google?
You can use Google AdSense, an advertising platform, to monetize content like blogs, websites, or YouTube videos.
Clients pay to advertise through it, and by displaying advertising on your website or channel, you receive a share of that revenue. AdSense registration is cost-free.
How AdSense works?
Google must first authorize your website. Google doesn't make its approval figures public. However, you're good to apply if your website offers original content and meets with AdSense's rules. At least 18 years of age is required.
You can arrange for adverts to display on your website once you've been approved. You have control over the kinds of advertising that run and where on the page they appear. However, the businesses that appear on your website compete for a chance to be there.
AdSense allows its advertisers to compete for space on your website based on both your content and how probable it is that visitors will click on their advertisements.
Two elements are at play here, and Google decides the latter through the advertiser's "quality score."The first is the CTR, or click-through rate. This is the proportion of site visitors that Google anticipates will click on ads.
The other is a set of "factors determining the quality of user experience from viewing the ad," as described by Google. Google doesn't specify what they are, but its support site claims that the relevance of the ad and landing page experience are crucial.
How much does AdSense pay?
A cost per click, or CPC, estimate is made by advertisers based on the aforementioned factors. Every time someone clicks on an advertisement from your website, they will be charged this amount.
Imagine your website as a painting of a landscape that you have put up for auction. Collectors of landscape paintings are allowed to place bids on it through an auction house. More people will want to buy your painting, increasing competition and your earnings.
It's challenging to predict how much money you'll make since Google doesn't disclose all of the criteria it uses. However, as an example, suppose you receive 2,000 views on your website in a month and 1.5% of those visitors click an ad, which equals 30 clicks. If an advertiser submits a bid of 75 cents per click, you would see up to $22.50 for that month.
